RICHARD LEE
Richard Lee is a retired corporate executive from the banking and consulting industries.
He had a keen interest in art and design as a teenager and served an apprenticeship to become a design draughtsman and technical illustrator in the aerospace industry.
After his apprenticeship he studied for and earned a Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Leeds, UK and the University of Waterloo, Canada.
He then moved to London to start his consulting career with Andersen Consulting specializing in Technology and Operations in Financial Services.
He moved to the US 30 years ago after meeting his future wife, Caryn (an American) in London. They live in the 4th Ward of Charlotte in a renovated Victorian house built in 1896 where they raised their 3 kids Emma, Dillon and Olivia.
Richard didn’t take up painting until after his retirement. He is an avid scratch handicap golfer and is a member at Carolina Golf Club. He travels extensively to either play golf or discover new parts of the world by motorcycle. He uses multiple photographs (mostly uses his own) and experience to inspire his paintings and captures the drama of the location and emphasizes the unique elements of golf course architecture.
